New Album Lyrics!

Do not rub your eyes in disbelief! It is true. I have posted another set of album lyrics.

The lucky album this time round is ACD. Many thanks to Martin for supplying the lyrics (a long time ago, sorry Martin).

  2. Heard about the new album? CSI: Ambleside is released on 28th April.

  3. Really? Excellent news. I love the title (never watched the shows) and I'm excited already. The whole concept of a CSI division in Ambleside is hilarious.

The timing is great too as I am beginning to like This Leaden Pall far too much!

    Thanks for the news Martin.

  4. Really???? I have to give This Leaden Pall another go. Maybe force-feed myself..... but I hated it!!

I have never watched CSI, but the thought of all that X-Filesy stuff going on in the lakes has me drooling for the album. 3 weeks and counting... :)

  5. You should give it another go...it's fast rising up the my favourite HMHB album chart (of which there is never a clear winner, just constant swapping of choices).

In fact Martin I think I must have been having a very bad day when I first listened to it and marked it down unfairly. It's tuneful with some great lyrics and individual couplets of brilliance:

"I'm the big cheese down at the Tourist Information. I work out of Barmouth, where the bathing is safe."

    or,

" I dream of occasional fanzine mentions; I've been to one too many David Lynch conventions; I play postal chess with a man who doesn't know me...."

That is sheer brilliance and within three amusing lines has painted a very clear picture of what this individual is all about. A geek, a loner or certainly someone not mainstream. Ah, the poetry!

But I'm not going to start analysing the songs as it's hard enough to find the time to post the lyrics!

  6. Not their best, but This Leaden Pall is much better than McIntyre Treadmore And Davitt.

But that's just, like, my opinion, man.

TLP reminds me of Beatles For Sale; a world-weary, transitional album, unfairly overlooked in retrospect.

"I said to Jesus, 'How much do you love me?'
He said 'This much' and he stretched out his arms and died"

    Great stuff.
